Scoobe3D is a novel 3D Scanning technology that is now available on Kickstarter. Scoobe3D aims to make 3D scanning and easy to use technology that can let anyone get accurate handheld scans. 3D scanning has been around for decades but the technology is clunky, expensive and often requires many repeat scans to get a file right. Enterprise customers can use high-end scanning equipment butt often this costs hundreds of thousands of Dollars. Even then different scanners are suited for different applications. Some scanners are good at scanning as long as the object isn’t shiny or require you to place stickers all over the object for them to work. Make one false move and you have to start all over again. Other scanning rigs fill rooms or require complex turntable devices. 3D scanning, even when it does work well, often requires a lot of clean up of the files in CAD. Most users want 3D scanning because the objects they want to scan are very complex to do in CAD so this undermines the entire purpose of scanning it. The dream of 3D scanning is still far ahead of the current finicky capabilities, however. Even high-end systems are complex to use and require a lot of skill, often specific to that scanning technology. There are some low-cost 3D scanning options out there but often they require a lot of hand-holding, literally and figuratively.
The Rize XRIZE?utilizes a hybrid technique?called Augmented Deposition, fusing extrusion-based 3D printing with jetting technology akin to that used by regular 2D printers. While the engineering-grade thermoplastic part is being created layer-by-layer, the 3D printer simultaneously releases CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) inks through printheads to add color.
If you’re going off of dollar per cubic millimeter, this is the best bang for you buck by a wide margin. And that’s about the extent of the good things I have to say about this machine.
Another limitation of MJ is the strength of the printed parts. MJ parts are structurally weak, meaning they’re not ideal for components that must?handle some kind of load.
Prices:?They often have deals on printers, so they’re worth checking out to make sure you’re getting the lowest price for your machine.?The shipping fees vary.
One fascinating example comes from a team of students at Grand Canyon University. They developed a low-cost, 3D printed hydro-colloidal?bandage, which aids in treating infections more effectively than a regular one. Essentially, it’s partially composed of a gel-like substance that sucks in and traps bacteria.
The printing process begins with pouring the resin into the material container. Just like SLA, MJ makes use of thermoset photopolymer resin, meaning it must heated?(to between 30 and 60 °C) in order to reach the appropriate viscosity.
In a research note, Kuo says that pre-release demand for the Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e has been "much better than expected", and his souped-up up estimates suggest Samsung’s latest flagships have seen a 30 to 40 per cent increase in shipments as compared to last year’s Galaxy S9 series.?
As if the Laser Gun wasn’t already one of the coolest add-ons of the NES, Nintendo tried to one-up themselves with this voice-activated headset. The Konami LaserScope, also knows as the Gun Sight, was an additional controller that could be used in place of the Laser Gun.
Similarly, Nanoscribe, a German pioneer in high-precision additive systems, has presented its entire process chain, including the new Photonic Professional GT2 3D printer at the SPIE Photonics West trade fair in optics and photonics, in February.
In a demonstration video (shared below) that was released alongside the 3D scanner in 2017, the peel 3D team attempted to scan a reflective racing seat to prove that their scanner could capture shiny objects. While most 3D scanners struggle with such objects, the peel 3D scanner looked surprisingly adept at scanning the seat.
